Static Support Bed (SSB) consists of a matrix or bed of immobilised
thin (10 to 40 µm) micro-wires suitably modified on the surface and held by either end to the inlet and outlet of a column or reactor.

SSB is used as a support in chromatographic and cell culture steps.
