In late 2001 Dr. Marcos Simón, specialised in bio-process development settled in San Sebastián (Spain) and founded Derivatives of Recombinant Organisms, S.L. (DRO).
DRO was devoted to the development of novel technologies applied to the purification of therapeutic substances produced by cell culture or fermentation of microorganisms.
While the technology was being developed, the activity of DRO in the market was directly related to plasmid DNA design, construction and production.
In late 2005, having developed Static Support Bed technology, DRO together with seven private investors founded DRO BIOSYSTEMS, S.L. In doing so, DRO ceased all activities and transferred its knowledge and resources to DRO BIOSYSTEMS.
